1/10/2026 [Manhattan, NY] - SUNY Sullivan Generals Men's Basketball started the new year with a road win over Region XV opponent, Borough of Manhattann Community College, 88-70.  SUNY Sullivan has split with BMCC this year with BMCC winning by 1 point back in November.  The Generals improve to 5-11 overall and 4-7 in Region XV [7th place].  

SUNY Sullivan had to dust off some of the rust from winter break and their defense took a half to get going, at halftime the Generals were down to BMCC by 2 (44-46).  In the second half things were firing on all cylinders with the offense again scoring 44 points but their improved defense holding BMCC to only 24 points in the half; leading to the18 point win for SCCC, 88-70.  SUNY Sullivan Generals shared the wealth with five individuals scoring in double figures; Tomas Hernandez led the way with a double-double having a game high 24 points and game high 10 rebounds while added Quentin Richardson began his college career with a double-double scoring 15 points and dishing out an impressive game high 10 assists.  Hassan Niang went for 18 points and 4 rebounds, David Fowler finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Xavier Beckford chipped in with 11 points and 4 rebounds.  The rest of the team scoring came from S.Henderson (5) and J.Reich (3). 

The Borough of Manhattan Communtiy College Panthers had three individuals score double digits: Jayport Smith went for 21 points, Noah Smith added 18 points, and Alijah Banks chipped in 16 points.

The SUNY Sullivan Generals have three games in the coming week with two on the road, Tuesday (1/13) @ Bronx CC [5p] and Thursday (1/15) @ Suffolk CC [6p], before coming home to play Monroe University-Bronx Express on Saturday (1/17) at 2pm in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse on the campus of SUNY Sullivan.  Saturday's (1/17) home game will be the first of a two games with the semi-professional ABA team, Hudson Valley Rivermen, playing after the Generals; Genarals tip off at 2pm and the Rivermen tip off at 5:30pm.
