Newark, NJ- Sullivan Generals traveled to Essex CC on Saturday (2/15). The Generals faced off with the 17-5, Essex Wolverines, on their Sophomore Day. The Generals jumped out to an early lead that the Wolverines threatened but could never overcome, ultimately Sullivan proved too much for Essex and notched their 23rd win, 87-76. The #3 Generals move to 23-2 on the season with one regular season game left. The Generals shot 45% from the field, 36% from three, and 67% from the free throw line. The Generals saw six separate guys scoring double figures.
The Generals were led by double-doubles from both
Kendall Robinson and
Darius Lee.Â
Kendall Robinson finished with a game high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.Â
Darius Lee notched another double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists.Â
Jasiah Lewis chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists.Â
Josh Galloway ending the game with 10 points and 9 rebounds.Â
Jalen Reneau came off the bench and went for 11 points and 7 assists.Â
Jordan Drain added another 12 points and 8 rebounds. Other scoring came from E.Sanchez (3); T.Holley (2); and C.Brown (2).
The Generals are back in action on Tuesday (2/18) when they host Mid-Hudson Conference opponent Rockland CC. Tuesday evening is a doubleheader with the Women's basketball team at 5pm and the Men at 7pm- we will be honoring the sophomores on both teams so come out and support our Generals.
