Ulster Pulls Away Late in Conference Opener

Sullivan unable to hang on to early leads...

HIGHLAND, N.Y- The Mid-Hudson Conference opener for both clubs was a hotly contested back and forth affair early on as the Generals carried a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the 5th. Ulster would then outscore the visitors 10-0 over the last 4 innings to secure the 12-4 win. 

Starting pitcher Jordan Kazen was strong until the 5th until the Ulster bats started to get going. Kazen (3-1) would not walk anyone on the day and finished with 5 strikeouts. Only two of the seven runs on his ledger were earned. Bryan De Aza drove in two runs with a sacrifice fly and RBI single while JP Compres would collect two hits on the day. 

Sullivan drops to 10-10 (0-1 MHC) while Ulster improves to 8-5 (1-0 MHC). Both teams are scheduled to matchup again Friday at 3:30pm in Highland, NY.
