LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. - An old fashioned pitcher's duel broke out Saturday in game one of a doubleheader with Ulster CC at Generals' Park. At the end of the day the homestanding Generals came away with a 4-2 victory.
Ulster starter Andrew Huffman had Sullivan's number as he took a no-hitter into the 6th inning, the hard throwing righty would strike out 12 on the day but not before Sullivan was able to scratch together 4 runs in the 6th to claim victory.Â
Sophomore 3B
Pedro Abreu led off the 6th inning with a double and with two outs a
Giovanni Diaz single would bring him in. A
Justin Mateo basehit and a
Bryan De Aza walk would set up a JP Compress 2-run single and a 3-2 Sullivan lead. An unearned run would cap the scoring at four in the frame
Freshman RHP
Steven Colon would get two quick outs in the top half of the 7th before loading the bases.
Jean Garcia would track down a line drive in left field to end the game. Colon went 7 innings, allowing 4 hits while striking 5. His record now stands at 4-1 on the season.
