Generals Drop Night Game on the Road at Dutchess CC

Kazen's strong effort wasn't enough...

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Sullivan concluded their four game set Monday night with a single 9 inning game at Dutchess Stadium. The Generals would end up dropping a 5-2 decision as both teams pitched well and made keys plays when needed.

Dutchess would get an early run off stater Jordan Kazen to which the Generals would answer back in the third inning behind a William Ramirez RBI double and then an errant throw on a Ramirez stolen base attempt of third base would allow him to score, putting Sullivan up 2-1.

Kazen battled his way through jams over the course of his eight innings. Dutchess would strike for 3 more runs in the 5th and that 4-2 lead would hold into the 8th where they would add an insurance run to make 5-2.

Pedro Abreu and Jon Minotti both had two hits on the day. Kazen (3-4) would scatter 11 hits and 5 earned runs over eight innings. With the loss Sullivan stands at 17-20 (6-10 MHC).

Sullivan returns to action on Tuesday as they host NJCAA DI opponent Monroe College at 4pm.
