LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. - The #1 seeded Sullivan Generals were pushed to the brink in their semi-final matchup with #4 Ulster on Saturday afternoon in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse but prevailed by the score of 92-85. With the win Sullivan improves to 21-7 and advances to the final vs. #3 Orange CC who defeated #2 Westchester CC in overtime.
In the first half of play the hot shooting of Ulster beyond the arc helped spot them to a 43-41 lead at the break. The Senators shot 50% from 3-point land with most of the damage coming from guard Josiah Borden who finished the day with six 3-pointers while going 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. Borden finished with a team high 30 points.
As the scene has played out the majority of the 2018-2019 season for the Generals, their depth and size advantage eventually claimed another opponent. Power forward
Darius Lee was a man on a mission racking 30 points while shooting 14-for-18 from the foul line.
Kevin Smith added 21 points while
Jamarr Joseph notched 13 points and 5 boards off the bench.
Kendall Robinson added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds has he continues his strong late season play.
