Brent Wilson

Brent Wilson has brought success to SUNY Sullivan since his hiring in June of 2013; compiling an impressive 219-57 overall record in nine seasons.  In each of these seasons he has never won less than 21 games even as he helped Sullivan transition from NJCAA DIII to the NJCAA DII level in 2018.  After his first three seasons; he was rewarded with the title of Assistant Athletic Director in February of 2016.
 
This past season; the Generals entered the NJCAA DII Top 25 for the first time in school history as they eventually finished #2 in the country.   In addition; Sullivan qualified for the NJCAA DII National Tournament after winning their second straight Region XV Championship. 

In nine seasons at Sullivan; Wilson’s teams have won multiple Region XV Championships, 6 Mid-Hudson Conference Championships, produced 6 All-Americans, and most importantly sent 40 players onto four level institutions. 
 
Prior to Sullivan; Wilson enjoyed success as an assistant at North Dakota (12’-13’) and the University at Albany (09’-12’).  While at North Dakota; Wilson helped the Fighting Hawks to the best ever league record for a newcomer in the Big Sky Conference.  Wilson is credited with recruiting numerous players at Albany and helped set the foundation for three NCAA Tournament appearances from 2013-2015.
 
Along with coaching at Albany, Wilson is a 2008 graduate where he is remembered for his leadership and efforts in building Albany into one of the most successful programs in the America East.  Recruited from the state of Iowa in 2004; Wilson captained the Great Danes to their first ever America East Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.  Wilson helped the Great Danes repeat this success with another Championship and Tournament appearance in 2007.  During his career; Wilson scored over 1,000 points, earned All-Conference and All-Tournament Honors, and was inducted into the Albany Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017.   
 
Wilson holds a Master’s degree from Canisius College in 2015 along with his Bachelor of Arts from Albany in 2008.  He is married to the former Tina Bryson who was a standout field hockey athlete at Albany.  They have three girls (Camdyn, Lillian, and Hayley) and a boy (Brady).
