3/29/2025 Queens, NY - The SUNY Sullivan Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field team traveled to St. John's University in Queens, NY this past weekend for 'The Big Hurt 2025' track and field event. The Generals were represented by four student-athletes: Andrew Figuroa (Sophomore);
Emily Curry (Freshman);
Ronald Segovia (Freshman); and
William Ross (Freshman). Â
Emily Curry competed in the Women's 100 Meter Dash and Women's 400 Meter Dash events. Emily finished the 100-meter dash with a time of 17.27 seconds which placed her at 27th place for the event; in the 200-meter run her time was 1:42.58 minutes placing her 13th among the competition.
On the Men's side
William Ross competed in the 100 Meter Dash and 200 Meter Dash events. Will finished the 100-meter sprint with a time of 13.01 seconds placing 26th; in the slightly longer 200-meter dash he finished in 30th place with a time of 27.6 seconds. Teammate
Andrew Figueroa also ran in the 200 Meter Dash event, where he finished 32nd with a time of 28.25 seconds. Andrew then competed in the 800 Meter Run event where he finished in 2:54.13 minutes for a 14th place result.Â
Ronald Segovia rounded out the day in the 1500 Meter Run event where he finished 15th with a time of 6:46.91 minutes.
