2-21-2024 Loch Sheldrake, NY - The SUNY Sullivan Generals defeat conference rival and #20 ranked SUNY Orange last night, 74-69. With the win the Generals earn the Mid-Hudson Conference Regular Season Champions title and move to 7-1 in conference and 15-10 overall. Since moving up to the NJCAA DII level, SUNY Sullivan has been the Mid-Hudson Conference Champions for four of the last five regular seasons. The Generals were led by Ty Thomas and
Naquan Pounder who both finished with double-doubles. Sullivan earns the #1 seed going into the Region XV Tournament.
Ty Thomas led the way with a game high 30 points and game high 15 rebounds in the win over the #20 ranked Colts. Senior
Naquan Pounder also chipped in with his own double-double going for 10 points and 14 rebounds. Senior Captain
Noreon Williams went for 11 points and 5 rebounds while freshman
Jaylen Cotten had 12 points and 5 rebounds. The rest of the scoring came from
Jireej Cole with 8 points and 8 rebounds and
Andre Bowles with 3 points.
The SUNY Sullivan Generals are next in action on March 2nd when they face #4 seed SUNY Westchester in the Region XV Tournament.
