Wednesday, 12/18/2024 [Suffern, NY] - The Mid-Hudson Conference has announced the male and female Athletes of the Week for the conference; SUNY Sullivan's own Zyir Fowler (MBB) and Shonyae Edmonds (WBB) have earned recognition for the week of 12/9-12/15.

Zyir Fowler was named the Mid-Hudson Conference Male Athlete of the Week. Zyir helped the Generals go 2-0 for the week of 12/9-12/15. Sullivan earned their first win against conference opponent SUNY Ulster (77-71); Zyir was instrumental in the win with 27 points and 5 rebounds.  Two days later the Generals got their second win, beating LaGuardia CC (80-74); in that game Zyir finished with 32 points and 5 rebounds.

Shonyae Edmonds was named the Mid-Hudson Conference Female Athlete of the Week for the week of 12/9-12/15; this is Shonyae's second time this year being honored at Athlete of the Week and the fourth time a Sullivan General has earned the Female Athlete of the Week honors this year.  Shonyae was a driving force in the Lady General's two wins last week over Bryant & Stratton-Albany and then LaGuardia CC.  On Saturday, Shonyae finished with a double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 boards.
