Box Score 2 New Rochelle, NY (1/14-1/15/2023) - The Sullivan Generals played in the MLK Classic hosted by Monroe College over the weekend. The Lady Generals went 1-1 with a win on Saturday and a loss on Sunday. On Saturday, the Generals got the victory over Erie CC, 54-39. On Sunday, the Generals fell to Division I Monroe College, 70-59.
On Saturday the Generals played Erie CC; the game was slow to start with Sullivan falling behind 7-6 after the first quarter. The second quarter picked up paced yet Erie added to their lead winning the second quarter 14-13 and going into the half up two, 21-19. The second half is when the Generals started clicking winning the third quarter 18-11 and taking the lead 37-32 going into the fourth quarter. Sullivan outscored Erie by ten in the last quarter to win the game, 54-39
The Sullivan Generals Women were led by double-double from
Deivejon Harris with 10 points and 12Â rebounds.Â
Brieanna Maple added in 16 points while
Tamari Hubbard finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists. The rest of the scoring came from K.Williams (9), B.Bruno (4), and M.Bryant (3).
Erie CC was led by Mia Special with 12 points; Dominique Doss with 13 points; while Briana Milender grabbed 15 rebounds.
On Sunday the Lady Generals fell to the Division I host of the MLK Classic, Monroe College. The Generals struggled to contain Monroe College and fell behind early, going down 9-15 in the first quarter; by half time the Generals were trailing 24-40. Sullivan came out hot in the third out scoring Monroe College, 17-10, and cutting into the lead to trail by nine, 41-50, with one quarter to play. The Generals fell short and finished down eleven, 59-70.
Sullivan's
Deivejon Harris ended with a double-double going for 10 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Brieanna Maple lead the Generals with a game high 18Â points.Â
Tamari Hubbard finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds. The rest of the scoring came from: K.Williams (7), M.Bryant (8), B.Bruno (5), and H.Peck (1).
Herkimer was led by a double-double from Khalia Bryant with 11 points and 10 rebounds; Olivia Medford with 15 points; and Sara Carvajal-Caro with 10 points.
The Sullivan Generals are now 10-7 on the year and are back in action on Tuesday when they host Onondaga CC (the #14 ranked team at the D3 level) in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse at 1:00pm.
