Danville, IL (3/18/2022) - [Semifinals Round of NJCAA DII Men's Basketball National Tournament] The #3 seed Sullivan Generals fell to Davidson-Davie Community College (NC), 78-85.  The #3 Generals will play in the third place game on Saturday (3/19) at 5:30pm CT (6:30pm ET).  Sullivan will play the #4 seed Des Moines Area Community College (IA), who lost to the #1 seed South Suburban CC (IL), in the consolation game of the National Tournament [for 3rd place].

The Generals struggled offensively in the first half and went into the half down sixteen points, 34-50.  The second half was a different story with the Generals generating a comeback and winning the half, 44-35, but ultimately coming up short and losing the game by seven, 78-85. Sullivan's record moves to 28-4 on the year.

Sullivan had three Generals score double figures. Kareem Welch led the way with a game high scoring 28 points with 8 rebounds. Jalen Reneau went for 23 points and Sam DeSouza went for 12 points and 7 rebounds. The rest of the Generals scoring came from J.Alvarez (4), J.White (4), D.Jackson (3), K.Tracey (2), and J.Minto (2).

Davidson-Davie CC (NC) was led by Javeon Jones with 25 points, Uzziah Dawkins with 17 points, and Aaron Ross with 14 points.

The #3 seed Sullivan Generals will play in the third place game on Saturday (3/19) at 5:30pm CT (6:30pm ET).  The Generals play the #4 seeded Des Moines Area Community College (IA), who lost to the #1 seed and undefeated South Suburban Community College (IL).
