Loch Sheldrake, NY (2/17/2022) - The #19 ranked Sullivan Generals Women's Basketball team were at home on Thursday, against the Community College of Rhode Island. The #19 Generals were in a tight one all evening but were able to secure the 66-60 victory in the end. Sullivan is 18-2 on the season, with two games left before playoffs.
The Generals were in a tight one right from the jump, by the end of the first quarter it was tied 12-12. In the second quarter Sullivan fell behind by three, 13-10, and went into the half down, 25-22. The third quarter was where the Generals responded and outscored CCRI by seventeen points, 29-12. The #19 Generals had a 51-37 lead to start the fourth quarter. CCRI proved they wouldn't go away easily outscoring Sullivan 23-15 in the fourth quarter; the Generals were able to hold off the late game push to secure their 18th win, 66-60.
The Lady Generals were led by another double-double from
Deivejon Harris with 20 points and 15 rebounds.Â
Keyani Sidberry added in 10 points of her own and Gabielle Jeridore went for 11 points and 8 rebounds. The remaining of the Generals points came from A.Perry, (9), M.Bryant (8), A.Hector (6), and L.Drain (2). CCRI saw four score in double digits with two recording a double-double each. Ashley Lima went for 14 points and 10 rebounds; Maggie Schwab went for 10 points and 14 rebounds; Chloe Rayko went for 15 points; and Elizabeth Bruno went for 10 points.
The Sullivan Generals final two games of the regular season are both home in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse: Saturday Feb 19th at 12pm and Sunday Feb. 20th at 3pm. Saturday the #19 Generals play Essex CC and then on Sunday there's a showdown of top ranked teams when undefeated and #3 ranked CCBC Essex team comes to play the #19 ranked Sullivan Generals.
