Box Score Rochester, NY - The Sullivan Generals took on the host of the Murph Shapiro Classic, Monroe CC, on Sunday. The Lady Generals fell by one, 64-63, and move to 3-2 on the year. Â
The game was a back and forth battle from the jump; Sullivan jumped out to an early lead and were able to finish the first quarter up three, 17-14. In the second quarter Sullivan continued to build on their lead and outscored Monroe CC, 16-11; The Generals led at half by eight, 33-25. Out of the half Monroe CC showed some fight and cut into deficit by outscoring Sullivan by three, 18-15. The fourth quarter proved to be too much for Sullivan falling 21-15 and giving up their lead to fall by one point, 64-63.
Sullivan's Deivejon Harris went for a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Off the bench, Brieanna Maple, led the Generals in scoring with 21 points, going 8-13 (61.5%) from the field. Malaysia Bryant chipped in 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists of her own. The remaining of the Generals points came from: M.Calliste (5), B.Bruno (4), and T.Hubbard (2).Â
Monroe CC was led by Khamera Muhammad's double-double, 23 points (game high) and 13 rebounds. Kennedy Young added in 19 points of her own.
The Generals are back in action Tuesday when they play Monroe BX at 6pm [POSTPONED] in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse on the campus of SUNY Sullivan.
