Newark, NJ (1/27/2022) - The Sullivan Generals Women's Basketball team was on the road this past week when they went to Essex CC in Newark, NJ to play the Wolverines. The Generals were in a tight match but were able to secure the victory 79-77. Sullivan is 16-1 on the season.
The Generals started ff slow allowing the Wolverines to jump out to a 27-16 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter Sullivan was able to cut into Essex's lead by winning the quarter 20-18; the Generals went into the half down nine, 36-45. The second half didn't look great when Essex responded in the third to extend their lead to ten with only the fourth quarter left to play. The fourth quarter was all about Sullivan who came out and outscored the Wolverines 24-12 to take the final lead and win the game 79-77. The Sullivan Generals move to 16-1 on the year. Â
The Lady Generals were led by another double-double from
Deivejon Harris with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Anisa Perry added in 14 points of her own while three other women went for 11 points apiece:Â
Keyani Sidberry,
Lanasia Drain, and Malaysia Bryant. The remaining of the Generals points came from G.Jeridore (8), A.Hector (2), and D.Cadichon (2). Â
The Sullivan Generals are back in action on Thursday Feb 3rd when they head downstate to face conference opponent the Westchester CC Vikings.
