Groton, CT (Thursday 12/2)- Sullivan Generals Women's basketball picked up a road twin his past Thursday when they traveled to UCONN-Avery Point. The Generals were able to secure the victory, 76-61, and move to a undefeated 9-0 on the season.
The Lady Generals jumped out to a quick and early lead and ended the first quarter in control, 15-8. The second quarter was more evenly match yet the Generals were able to extend the lead and go into halftime up twelve, 34-22. After the half Sullivan was able to further extend their lead in the third quarter and were up 61-39 to start the fourth. UCONN-Avery Point made a last quarter push outscoring the Generals 22-15, but in the end the Generals secured their 9th straight victory with a 76-61 win. Â
The Generals' Deivejon Harris led the way with a double-double, going for 14 points and 16 rebounds. Infinity Hammonds hit three 3's and ended with 15 points and 6 assists. The remainder of the points came from K.Sidberry (9), B.Bruno (8), M.Bryant (8), G.Jeridore (6), L.Drain (6), K.Morgans (5), A.Perry (4), and S.Dawson (1)
UCONN-Avery Point's Adeline Smith finished with team high 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds. Francesca Foster added 17 points while Trinity Angel had 10 rebounds and 8 points.
The Sullivan Lady Generals are back in action Saturday at 1:00pm at home when they host Prince George's CC from Maryland at the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse. Â
