Sullivan Women Move to 12-0 Over the Weekend

Go 2-0, Beat Howard CC and Monroe CC

New Rochelle, NY (12/11/21-12/12/21)- The Sullivan Generals Women traveled to New Rochelle over the weekend to participate in the Monroe College Winter Mixer.  The #19 ranked Generals were paired up against the Howard Community College Dragons on Saturday and the Monroe Community College Tribunes on Sunday.  The Lady Generals went 2-0 over the weekend moving to an undefeated 12-0 on the year.

On Saturday (12/11) the Sullivan Generals faced off with the Howard CC Dragons from Maryland; the Generals were able to weather the storm and win the game, 69-63.  The first quarter was a close back and forth with the Generals able to secure a 1 point lead, 15-14.  The second quarter was much of the same with Sullivan winning the quarter again by one, 18-17, and heading into halftime up by two, 33-31.  Sullivan came out of halftime hot and were able to win the third quarter, 29-14, extending their lead to 17 points heading into the final quarter.  In the fourth quarter Sullivan found themselves in a scoring drought losing the quarter 18-7.  Sullivan's defense was able to hold off the Dragons and secure the overall victory, 69-63.  The Generals were led by Deivejon Harris scoring 17 points on 73% shooting to go along with 7 rebounds.  Infinity Hammonds went for 14 points while Anisa Perry filled the stat line with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Gabrielle Jeridore grabbed 13 rebounds with 4 points; the rest of the Generals scoring came from B.Bruno (8), K.Sidberry (6), M.Bryant (4), K.Morgans (4), and L.Drain (2). Howard CC was led by Kori People with a game high 32 points and Kalani Corkeron with 12 points.  

On Sunday (12/12) The Generals faced off with the Tribunes from Monroe CC in Rochester.  Sullivan took control of the game early and never looked back, the Generals had a 52-18 lead at the half and ended with a 95-50 win to move to 12-0 on the year.  The Generals were led by a game high 27 point double-double from Lanasia Drain who also had 12 rebounds.  Deivejon Harris added her own double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds, while Inifinty Hammonds chipped in with 13 points and 5 assists.  The remaining of the Generals' scoring came from A.Perry (8), G.Jeridore (8), K.Morgans (6), M.Bryant (5), B.Bruno (4), R.Bare (4), K.Sidberry (2), and S.Dawson (2).  Monroe CC was led by Isabella DeRubeis with 21 points, Kalani Thomas with 15 points, and Jordan Loewke with 10 points.

The Sullivan Generals are off for the semester break and will be back at it in January.
