Lady Generals go Undefeated in the Tip Off Classic

Move to 2-0 on the Season

Box Score 1 Loch Sheldrake, NY- The Sullivan Generals Women's basketball team opened their season this past weekend hosting the Tip Off Classic.  The Lady Generals faced off against the Raptors of Montgomery College on Saturday (11/6) and then Raritan Valley CC Golden Lions on Sunday (11/7).  In both match-ups the Lady Generals were able to secure wins and moved to 2-0 on the 2021-22 season.

On Saturday, the Generals opened their 2021-22 season with an eight point victory over Montgomery College, winning 70-62.  Sullivan took an early lead, 22-19, in the first quarter yet struggled in the second quarter only scoring five points and going into the half down, 33-27.  After a reset the Lady Generals were able to outscore the Lady Raptors by nine to take the lead after three quarters, 53-50. The fourth quarter allowed Sullivan to extend their lead and end the game with a 70-62 win.  Deivejon Harris had a double-double and led all scorers with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Infinity Hammonds added in 15 points.  Aniyah Hector had 15 points and 5 rebounds while Anisa Perry chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds.  Barbara Bruno led Sullivan rebounding with 11 and had 3 points.  Other Lady General scoring came from Brant (8), Drain (4), and Sidberry (1).

Montgomery College was led by a 16 point, 11 rebound double-double from Kaleah Boykin.  Pryncess Lawson finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds.  Tiyanna James added another 12 points and 5 rebounds.  The remaining Raptor points came from Timmons (6), Moore (5), Fowler (4), Martin (3), and Magaha (2).

On Sunday the Lady Generals knocked off the Golden Lions from Raritan Valley Community College, winning 80-55.  Sullivan is now 2-0 on the year and will be in action again on Thursday (11/11) when they host, NJCAA Division I, ASA College at 5:00pm at home in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
