Sullivan Generals Down Westchester CC in League Opener

Men's and Women's Teams move to 1-0 in League

| Box Score 2 Loch Sheldrake, NY (11/18/2021)- The Sullivan Generals Men's and Women's basketball teams opened league play this past Thursday.  The Generals hosted Mid-Hudson Conference and Region XV rival, The Vikings of Westchester Community College.  The Women opened the doubleheader with a commanding 83-60 win and the Men followed suit with a 92-64 victory.

The Lady Generals took a small early lead of one, 13-12, after the first quarter.  By halftime the Generals were able to extend that lead to 34-27 and never looked back.  At the end of the third quarter Sullivan had moved into a double digit lead, 62-48, with one quarter to go.  At the end of the game the Generals had secured their first Mid-Hudson Conference win of the year over Westchester, 83-60.  The Sullivan Lady Generals move to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in league.

The Sullivan Generals Men had the second game of the league opening doubleheader.  The Generals were able to come out of the gate and get the Bunker rocking with an early lead.  The Generals took the early lead and were in control the entire game ending with a 92-63 victory over the previously undefeated Vikings of Westchester CC. The Generals move to 4-1 overall and secure their first Mid-Hudson Conference win moving to 1-0 in league.  The Generals were led by Jarell White who finished with 16 points, on 7-10 from the field, and also 7 rebounds.  Jalen Reneau went 7 for 11 finishing with 15 points and adding 7 assists.  Kareem Welch also had 7 assists to go along with 13 points and 4 rebounds.  Daivel Jackson grabbed 10 rebound and scored 7 points.  The Generals saw scoring from their entire active roster: J.Alvarez (9), J.Norwood (8), S.DeSouza (6), K.Tracey (5), C.Gallon (5), B.Tulloch (4), J.Minto (2), and J.Williams (2). Westchester was led by Malik Moore with 14 points, Nokio Kennedy with 13 points, and 10 points from Mekhi Purser.
