Loch Sheldrake, NY- The Sullivan Lady Generals move to 5-0 after collecting two road wins over the weekend. The Generals were on the road at Onondaga Community College on Saturday (11/13) and on Sunday (11/14) they traveled to Monroe Community College. The Lady Generals picked up a 74-66 win against the OCC Lazers and a second win, 51-47, versus the MCC Tribunes.
Saturday, Sullivan trailed early in the game ending the first quarter down five to the Lazers, 18-13. With a second quarter response of outscoring Onondaga CC by five, 16-11, the Generals were able to go into halftime tied at 29-29. Sullivan came out of the half and outscored the Lazers by three in the third quarter, 20-17, with one quarter to play the Generals were up 49-46. Sullivan commanded the final quarter, 25-20, to extend their lead and win the game by a final score of 74-66.Â
Barbara Bruno led all Generals scoring with 18 points to go along with her 6 rebounds, two steals, and two assists.Â
Deivejon Harris ended the game with a 14 point and 11 rebound double-double, while also grabbing 4 steals. Malaysia Bryant went for 17 points with 4 steals; while
Anisa Perry chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. The rest of Sullivan's scoring came from A.Hector (6), K.Sidberry (5), and L.Drain (3). The Onondaga CC Lazers were led by Zhane Holmes with 20 points. Other Lazers to go for double figures were Hannah Durand with 12, Macey Deordio with 11, and Shona Jackson with 10.
On Sunday, the Generals faced off with Monroe CC, after the first quarter Sullivan led the Tribunes, 12-10. The second quarter was a different story with Monroe CC outscoring Sullivan by five, 13-8, leaving the Generals down three points, 23-20. After some halftime adjustments the Lady Generals were on a different track and eliminated the deficit by outscoring the Tribunes by four in the third quarter, 12-8, to turn it into a one-point Sullivan lead after three quarters, 32-31. The four quarter provided the Generals more time to extend their lead and end the game beating the Tribunes by four, 51-47.
Sullivan Women's Basketball is back in action on Thursday, November 18th. They will host a Region XV opponent in Westchester Community College, at 5:00pm in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
