Sullivan Generals get Back on a Track and Move to 3-1

Collect Two Wins Over the Weekend

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 New Rochelle, NY- The Sullivan Generals traveled to Monroe College over the weekend for the Monroe College Classic in New Rochelle, NY.  The Generals were able to secure two big wins and move to an overall 3-1 on the season.  On Saturday, 11/13, the Sullivan Generals beat Mercer County Community College, 88-41.  On Sunday, 11/14, the Sullivan Generals were able to win, 91-54, against, NJCAA Division I opponent, Hagerstown Community College.

Saturday (11/13) the Sullivan Generals came out focused and ready to play jumping to an early lead and extending it to twenty-three points to go into halftime up, 45-22.  Mercer CCC had no response for the Generals defense could only score 19 in the second half; ultimately the Generals won the game 88-41.  Jarell White led all scorers with a 23 points, finishing an impressive 10 of 11 field goals (91%).  Kareem Welch hit four threes and finished the game with 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds.  Jalen Reneau dished out an impressive 8 assists to go along with 9 points.  The Generals saw pretty even scoring after that: J.Alvarez (8), S.DeSouza (8), A.Tate (5), J.Norwood (5), D.Jackson (4), K.Tracey (3), C.Gallon (3), and J.Minto (2).  The Mercer County Vikings were lead by two individuals scoring 10 points apiece, Donovan Ryland and Nyzhir Brown.

On Sunday (11/14) the Sullivan Generals faced off with Hagerstown CC, a NJCAA Division I program from Maryland.  The Generals were in control from the beginning and ended with a victory, 91-54.  The Generals saw six individuals go for double figures and a total of 11 players score.  Sullivan was led by Kareem Welch with 22 points and 7 rebounds.  Jay Alvarez recorded his first college double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.  Jarell White and Jalen Reneau both contributed 12 points apiece; while forwards Daivel Jackson and Sam DeSouza added another 10 points each.  The rest of the scoring came from K.Tracey (3), J.Norwood (3), Cameron Gallon (3), Z.Barnes (2), and J.Minto (2).  Hagerstown CC was lead by Eathen Williams with a game high 23 points, hitting five threes.  

The Sullivan Generals are back in action at home on Thursday, November 18 at 7:00pm in the Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.  The Generals will open their league play on Thursday, with Mid-Hudson opponent Westchester Community College.
