Sullivan Lady Generals Win Region XV Championship

Beat #2 Orange CC, 90-37

Loch Sheldrake, NY- Sullivan Lady Generals beat Orange CC, 90-37, to win the 2020 NJCAA DII Region XV Championship.  The Lady Generals move to 27-2 on the year and improve their win streak to 22 straight.  Sullivan came out on a mission to win the game, the Lady Generals shot 42% from the floor and 31% from three, hitting 11 total.  On defense Sullivan had 30 team steals and pressured the Lady Colts into 48 turnovers; Sullivan held Orange to 23% from the field and 0% from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals had three go for 20+ points, one have 20+ rebounds, and one have 10+ steals.

Adrienne Graves (Tournament MVP) had a dominate double-double with 21 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks.  Infinity Hammonds led all scoring with 27 points, hitting 6 threes to go along with 6 assists, and 4 steals.  Heather Caroccia added another 20 points to the mix and had 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.  Kanayah Britt (All-Tournament Team) was a defensive nightmare grabbing 5 steals; Britt added 1 assists, 3 points, and 3 rebounds on the offensive side.  Other Lady General scoring came from A.Buchanan (6); J.Curry; K.Britt (4); B.Avery (2); and J.Kelly (2). 

Orange CC was led by Candace McCutcheon (All-Tournament Team) who finished with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.  Diamond Bullard (All-Tournament Team) added 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

The Sullivan Lady Generals are back in action next Saturday (3/7) when they take on Lackawanna College in the semifinals of the NJCAA DII East A/B District Championships.  The women's district tournament is hosted by Region 21 Champions and the location is TBD.  Semifinal games are held Saturday (3/7) and the Championship is Sunday (3/8).
