Sullivan Wins at Dutchess CC, 97-68

Six Generals Score Double Digits

Poughkeepsie, NY- Sullivan Men's Basketball traveled across the river to Dutchess CC on Tuesday (1/28).  The Generals got an early jump on the Falcons and never relinquished their lead.  Ultimately the #5 ranked Generals won, 97-68, to move to 16-2 on the year.  Sullivan shot an impressive 45% from the floor and 74% from the foul line, but were a dismal 25% from beyond the arc.  The Generals shared the ball throughout the game and finished with 22 team assists with only 10 turnovers; the impressive ball movement saw 9 Generals scoring with six separate guys in double figures.  The Dutchess Falcons shot an impressive 40% from beyond the arc, hitting 10 threes, but were ultimately outmatched and outgunned.

Freshman point guard, Jalen Reneau, was responsible for a third of the Generals points dishing out 9 assists and scoring another 12 of his own; Reneau also finished with 4 rebounds and 4 steals.  Kendall Robinson led all scorers with 22 total points, hitting 4 threes; Defensively Robinson added 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.  Sophomore captain, Darius Lee, went 8-13 (62%) from the field scoring a total 19 points and added 7 assists and 5 rebounds.  Khayri Dawson's 4 steals brought a defensive energy that kicked off multiple General runs and resulted in 10 points from Dawson.  Josh Galloway struggled in the first half but came out in the second half determined to put his stamp on the game; Galloway was a force inside and finished the game with a total of 10 points and team-high 9 rebounds.  Eddie Sanchez provided a spark from the bench, hitting 3 threes and finishing the game with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.  Jasiah Lewis finished the game with 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Other General scoring came from T.Cannady (4) and T.Holley (3).

Dutchess Falcons were led by Isaiah Kostyal scoring 20 points on 6 made threes.  Stephon McGill finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds; yet, McGill struggled with the Generals defense and turned the ball over 10 times. Daniel Duffy and Dylan Barry both finished with a total of 11 points, apiece.

Sullivan is back in action, Thursday (1/30) at 7pm, when they travel to Raritan Valley CC.
