Generals Drop Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament Opener

14 hits not enough to keep game close...

LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. - In the opening round of the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament, #2 Sullivan out-hit #3 Westchester CC 14 to nine, but it wasn't enough in a 12-3 loss on Thursday.

Sullivan fired up the offense in the first inning. Bryan De Aza doubled on a full count, scoring Giovanni Diaz who had led off the inning with a double. De Aza would come around to score on a Pedro Abreu single to make it 2-0.  

Westchester CC would grab the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning to make it 4-2 and would tack on four runs in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach. 

Steven Colon took the loss for Sullivan. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out five.

Giovanni Diaz, Pedro Abreu, Elijah Ervin, and Brandon Maravi each collected multiple hits for Sullivan. Sullivan drops to 21-22 on the year and will take on Ulster CC Friday at 1pm in an elimination game.
