Generals Bats Kept in Check in 4-2 Loss to Monroe

Mustangs big arms rack up the K's...

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - After two impressive wins for Sullivan over the weekend they would run into several top flight arms from 2018 NJCAA DI Word Series participants Monroe College and drop a 4-2 decision. 

The Generals would actually strike first in the top of the 1st inning with a Pedro Abreu RBI groundout that would score Giovanni Diaz who reached via walk and moved up a wild pitch and groundout. 

Sullivan would scratch out a second run in the 3rd, this time on a RBI single by Pedro Abreu that again would plate Diaz. Starting pitcher Pablo Campusano would throw a strong 4 innings, striking out five before giving way to LHP Leandro Hernandez who would allow 3 runs over 2 2/3 IP, despite striking out five. LHP Joshua Evans was impressive over 1 1/3 IP, allowing no hits while striking out two and walking none. 

The Generals would actually out hit the Mustangs on the day by the count of 6-3 but the power arms from Monroe would come up with the big strikeouts when needed to seal the deal. With the loss Sullivan drops to 2-1 on the year.
