LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y. - Five Generals scored in double figures Thursday night to lead the SUNY Sullivan men's basketball team past Lackawanna 85-74, helping the Generals to reach the 20-win plateau for the sixth straight season under Head Coach
Brent Wilson's guidance.
With the win, the Generals improve to 20-6 overall on the season while the Falcons drop to 18-11.
Sophomore
Arafat Shaibu (Queens, NY, Academy of American Studies) led the Generals with 18 points in his final home regular season game, while fellow sophomore
Jamarr Joseph (Spring Valley, NY, Spring Valley High School) and
Kendall Robinson (Bellport, NY, Bellport High School) each tallied 15 points.
Kevin Smith (New Haven, CT, Putnam Science Academy) and
Darius Lee (Harlem, NY, Saint Raymond High School) also scored in double digits, totaling 14 and 13 points respectively.
As a team, the Generals buried 10 three-pointers on the night, the third most for the team in a game this season.
Lackawanna's J'von Winslow led all scores with 33 points.
The Generals will be back in action for their final regular season game on Saturday, as they hit the road to take on Monroe College. The Mustangs are 21-5 on the year and are receiving votes in the NJCAA Division I Top 25 poll.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
