Brooklyn, NY - The 2018 baseball season kicked off in high scoring fashion as Sullivan swept Kingsborough CC (12-0, 17-1) on a cold, blustery day. The Generals pitching came out attacking the strike zone in game one behind Daniel Rodriguez (Yonkers, NY, Riverside) who threw four scoreless innings, allowing a pop up single as the only hit on the Day. Rodriguez (1-0), struck out six and walked three. Freshman RHP/ C Jean Paul Compres (Bronx, NY, William C. Bryant) worked the final inning, picking up two strikeouts around two walks. Offensively the Generals rallied behind Sophomore 1B Joselito Castro (Bronx, NY, DeWitt Clinton) and his first inning bases clearing triple to stake the Generals to a 3-0 lead early. Sophomore Manny Nova (Bronx, NY, All Hallows) added a double, stole 3 bases and scored 3 runs. Freshman 3B  William Ramirez (Orlando, FL, Lake Nona) delivered the big blow on the day with a long 2-run homerun to right center in the midst of a 7-run 5th inning.
