MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. - Sullivan closed out the semester Tuesday night with an 82-61 win on the road over Orange CC. The win, the 6th in a row for the Generals, puts them at 9-3 (3-0 MHC) while Orange drops to 8-6 (2-2 MHC).
Both teams would trade baskets early on with the Generals out to narrow leads of 10-7 at the 14:27 mark and 26-22 with 7:11 left in the first half. The name of the game was rebounding and as the Generals started to win the war on the glass their lead extended to 41-30 at halftime.
The second half saw Sophomore guard
Kevin Smith start to heat up as he scored 17 of his 24 points on the night. He would finish shooting 10-for-16 from the floor. The Generals, who out rebounded Orange 50-35, were led by
Arafat Shaibu on the boards as he collected 12 while netting 14 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the field.Â

Kevin Smith (New Haven, CT, Putnam Science Academy) finishes the semester averaging 20.4 ppg (27th in the country).
Jamar Joseph was the latest General to come off the bench and provide a spark as he scored 13 while grabbing 7 rebounds.Â
The Generals are off for winter break but will be back early January as they take on Niagara CCC and then matchup with Monroe CC once again in the Philly Classic hosted by Herkimer CC in on January 12th and 13th. Sullivan defeated Monroe back on November 30th by the score of 87-73.Â
